You can remove your own content in AnonyFish and request help with other information associated with your installation. This page applies to the AnonyFish Android app, package fish.anony.nearby.
No conventional account to close
AnonyFish uses an anonymous installation identity rather than a name, email login, or public account. Deleting the app or clearing device storage does not automatically delete server records. It can also make it harder to prove ownership of content from the original installation.
Delete content in the app
- Delete your post: open the post’s discussion, open the menu at the top, choose Delete, and confirm.
- Delete your comment: open its discussion, use the menu beside your comment, choose Delete, and confirm.
- Remove your emoji reaction: tap your already-selected reaction again. If you open the reaction picker, selecting that same emoji also removes it.
These controls apply to content available in the app and recognized as belonging to the current installation. A deleted post or comment is removed from public access when the request succeeds. Removing a post also makes its discussion unavailable. Removing a reaction withdraws it from the live reaction record.
Posts already leave public view 24 hours after creation, together with their comments. If content has expired, your installation has changed, or a restriction prevents you from using the controls, use the request method below.
Request deletion or ask about your information
Email support@anony.fish with the subject AnonyFish privacy / deletion request. This contact method is available without signing in to the app or website.
- Explain whether you want help with particular content or information associated with an installation.
- Include a post, comment, or report reference if available, with an approximate date and enough context to locate it.
- If you have a non-secret anonymous installation reference, say so. If you do not know one or no longer have the app, explain that; support can discuss what information may help.
We may need to verify that the records relate to you before acting. There is no name-and-email account directory to search. Do not send your installation secret, session token, or unnecessary identity documents. Do not publish the request in a discussion or include unrelated people’s private information. Your email address and message will be used to handle the request.
What may remain, and for how long?
Public removal is separate from permanent cleanup. In the normal lifecycle, posts and comments become eligible for database cleanup 30 days after the post’s 24-hour public lifetime ends. Post/comment creation metadata normally becomes eligible after 30 days from creation. Resolved reports become eligible after 90 days from submission; pending reports can delay related deletion.
Restricted records may remain for moderation, security, unresolved reports, applicable obligations, or active legal holds. Moderation and sensitive-access audit records use a separate normal 730-day period, with relevant hold and open-case exceptions. Installation, age-check, and policy records may remain while needed for access, enforcement, or related records. Backups and operational logs have separate lifecycles, and a deletion does not immediately erase an existing backup.
A legal hold preserves scoped records without making them public. Cleanup occurs periodically when the records become eligible. We cannot remove copies other people have independently made. These limitations do not remove privacy rights that apply under law.
